KA-ZAR 2010: Year In Review
(#4) by Derrick Ferguson
The Cast: Ka-Zar, Future Ka-Zar, Zabu, Rosalind, Mobius M. Mobius
Antagonists Faced: Zarkko the Tomorrow Man
Standout Character: Zabu
Best Moment: Zarkko telling Mobius to buzz off
Overall: Derrick is able to throw his characters into some of the most unexpected of situations and make it work. Whoever would have thought that a Ka-Zar time travel story would be so entertaining? Well I can say that it certainly is, especially because what future Ka-Zar is talking about plays so nicely into some current events in the MA Universe. So I would say at least check the story out because you might be getting a hint of things to come. Don’t say that MA doesn’t give out freebies. But again, Zabu is the start of this series for me and he doesn’t say a single word. He’s such an integral part of who Ka-Zar is and Derrick shows you exactly why. I think pet lovers can particularly get into Derrick’s characterization of the loyal Zabu. He’s certainly someone that I want to see more of. And I also want to see more of the TVA. Given all the alternate timelines and alternate realities that bound around the Marvel Universe you’d think these guys would get more action.

I'd like to thank Brent, Erik and everybody else who has been so very patient waiting on my slothful ass to continue the adventures of The Lord of The Savage Land. While my commitment to MA may seem to be lax on the outside, I do stay in touch with Erik and Brent and remain highly interested and involved with the upcoming events that will be taking place here. And quite naturally I read about 65% of the new releases as you guys are producing some truly amazing work of staggering inventiveness and imagination.
But as I've never made a secret of; fan fiction always and must take a back seat to my original stuff. Not making excuses here. Just stating fact.
But next month I'll be having a lot more free time (I hope!) and I'll once again be able to produce more issues on a timely basis and even get around to a few of those special projects I've been promising Erik.

Hey as long as you're writing somewhere I don't really care what it is lol. But I do enjoy KA-ZAR immensely and I'm looking forward to some more issues of the series. It takes a creative and talented man to mesh the Lord of the Savage Land and the TVA together successfully. And to those not reading KA-ZAR, please understand that the title holds a very important place in the Marvel Anthology tapestry. Anyone reading X-FACTOR should understand why.

Well, if you enjoy my writing elsewhere then you've got a lot of that coming up soon. There's FOUR BULLETS FOR DILLON which will contain four separate Dillon adventures. My supernatural gunslinger Sebastian Red gets a workout in HOW THE WEST WAS WEIRD Vol 2 as well as HOW THE WEST WAS WEIRD: CAMPFIRE TALES.
As for what's going on here with me...well, Erik knows about a pet project of mine called JAVERT that I finally feel confident enough to present here so look for that in June as a one-shot special. What is JAVERT you ask? I ain't telling. But if you're a mutant fan you might wanna keep an eye out for it.
And then there's THE PRODUCER one-shot I've been working on for some time now...
