YELLOWJACKET 2010: Year In Review
(#4-7) by Anthony Crute
The Cast: Yellowjacket, Wasp, Ant-Man, and Stature
Antagonists Faced: Man-Beast and Whirlwind
Standout Character: Yellowjacket
Best Moment: It’s a tie between Hank allowing himself to go into chimera form to put down Man-Beast and the children’s play that the guys watched in Santo Rico.
Overall: This is one of my favorite titles at MA primarily because of the strong character work involved in it. Hank is written in a way that I wish Marvel only could. Anthony doesn’t ignore any part of Pym’s past and he beautifully brings it all together to create a flawed, but heroic man. I think the scene where Cassie finally discovers the truth behind some of his indiscretions to be one of the most powerful ones in the series. Also, the scene where the children acted out a play with Hank and Janet taking down El Toro was too cute for words. I really smiled when I read that and it’s a testament to Crute’s ability to make the reader have a visible emotional expression while reading. If for no other reason, this title should be read because of the consequences that The Man-Beast’s actions are going to have on the global scale. So when all the crap goes down you’ll be able to trace it back all to where it started.

YELLOW JACKET is one of my favorite MA titles as well, Brent and every new issue is greeted with a whoop and holla of joy from me when it does so.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It's really appreciated, I'm hopefully going to keep going with Yellowjacketss own brand of science mystery adventure and a little self-loathing thrown in for fun...and give him even more teen sidekicks (all of my titles end up with a teenage side-kick in there for some reason!)
Anyway sorry I've been a bit rubbish with updates; I'm going to try and get issue 9 written this week!
