First of all, it's good to see Des Davies writing again. It's been a long time since I've seen his name on a title and it was a welcome surprise to see him here. I'm looking forward to him having a long run on THUNDERBOLTS.
I enjoyed his lean, tight prose in this issue. No wasted words and no extra unnecessary scenes. Des tells us exactly what we need to know about the situation and the characters, no more no less. He efficiently gets in, does his job and gets out, leaving us wanting more.
And in regards to our main character, General Ross himself, I think having a series based around him is a terrific idea. And it's a way to show Ross as the extraordinarily competent military man he's supposed to be and not the one note nutjob who foams at the mouth everytime The Hulk is mentioned.
I'm guilty of that characterization myself but I hope we truly get to see a new and different side of Thunderbolt Ross. In fact if The Hulk never shows up in this series it wouldn't bother me at all.
Congratulations on a terrific first issue, Des and THUNDERBOLTS is most definitely on my Must Read List.

So far, it seems conceptually very close to Capekillers. A crossover would be a natural...

Derrick, Thanks for taking the time to read this. The writing muscles are a little flabby at the moment and it was a challenge to get this one paper. Glad I made your must read list and I will be working to get an issue out every month.
You will not be seeing the Hulk in this title. Not going to happen. Ross will be front and center and his new team. Get ready for some globetrotting adventures starting with Bosqueverde next issue.
Scott, I haven't gotten to Capekillers yet, but I'll move that up on my reading list. Thanks for taking a look at Thunderbolts. No crossovers in my first year as that's already planned out. After that we'll see.
Thanks again, Des
