It's probably the radiation...
That this issue feels slight can't be helped, since it's, plot-wise, a wild goose chase. Still, it's a good character study of one of the supporting cast and, more importantly for me, it shows that the search for Fu Manchu isn't going to be too easy. We authors often choose the most expedient route between points A and B to save time, so it was something of a treat to see a character sidetracked to point C.

I'd really wanted to do a solo issue for Reston, since I felt like he'd been slipping into the background quite a bit. There's another bit of a side-track in #9 I think you'll enjoy. I think #9 and 10 were my favorite issues to write on the entire book.
