I get the idea that Uncanny X-Men is supposed to be the big dawg title of Marvel Anthology's X-Line, but after reading these three issues I think they might have to relinquish that title. Brent has come into this book with an obvious goal of telling a big story and he's succeeding.
Where did this Sekhmet character come from? She's pretty badass and it's not often you run into female villians who can be Apocalypse level threats. That's why I like her. Brent does a great job showing that this woman is not to be underestimated and she manhandles a pretty powerful collection of characters.
The roster is pretty strong in terms of power and personality. They interact together in a realistic way and the guest-stars seamlessly flow into the story. Brent, from what I've read, seems to be the X-Writer who puts in the most effort to create a solid universe. For that reason and the other reasons I stated above, this title should be the leader IMO.

X-Men is among the flagship titles. Brent can relate more on the story parts of your review, I'm just pointing out that there are three "flagship" titles at Marvel Anthology. Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny X-Men and X-Men. However, as we actually discussed last night - the title is only a flagship if the reviewers determine it to be.
X-Men, for me, is the premier title.

Speaking as one of the writers of Uncanny, I agree wtih Gavin. Ive always taken the term flagship with a grain of salt. As long as a good story uis tild (and Brent is a great storyteler) then Im good. Hopefully Uncanny will one day match his quality, but I doubt it. That Jeff guy sucks!

First off, thanks Ryan (and Stormrage) for joining up and letting us know your feedback. If every lurker did this we'd have this board lousy with chatter every minute of the day.
X-MEN is absolutely part of the flagship titles of the x-branch. AXM and UXM started out as such but as I'm sure you've noticed every x-title here has a theme and a concept that they work in which helps diversity of story, but also keeps each book from potentially stepping on each others toes, and at the end of the day they all dealt with what they dealt with. X-MEN was born out of the need to have at least one book in the group be a big picture book. A book that wasn't 'bound' by a theme, but had the ability to do and go wherever it needed to tell the story or help supliment the story of other books.
So, you'll see X-MEN span the range of themes while the others continue on their path.

I appreciate all the support guys. I'm trying to definately write X-Men as if it were the "big picture" book. Flagship is a nice title to have, but I rather have the support of my fellow writers and readers in that I'm telling a good story.
And Sekhmet, for me, is the big bad of X-MEN. She's coming in hard during this intial arc and will have more encounters with this team in the future. What I'm trying to do is not give her a complete defeat, allowing her to accomplish some goals with every encounter. I'll say no more though.

So does her story sort of serve as the spine of your title for a while?

So when does the current arc conclude?

Well the current arc concludes with the next issue released. But there are going to be some changes within the title that are going to shift things a bit. I can't say a whole lot, but stay tuned for it.
